FEDERATION'S ANNUAL MEETING. [BT lELWMAPH.—PBESS .ASSOCIATION.] TlicAßr/, Monday. The fourteenth annual conference and competitions of the Federated Catholic Clubs of New Zealand were commenced here on Saturday, and were brought to a conclusion yesterday. A resolution was passed expressive of profound regret in regard to the death of Bishop Grimes. It was reported that tho clubs had suffered severely in membership by a large number of members having gone to the fiont to defend their country. The election of officers resulted :—Presi-dent-general, Archbishop Redwood; president, .Mr. J. L. Leydon; vice-president, Mr. G. Dee; hon. secretary, Mr. T. H. Forster: hon. treasurer, Mr. E. B. Reado; executive, Messrs. O'Kane, F. Calvin, J. Fagan, all "f Wellington. The result of the competitions was:— Timaru, 1; Christchurch, 2; Wellington,3. The next conference will be held in Wellington.
