AUSTRO-ITALIAN SITUATION INCREASES IN GRAVITY.
MOBILISED FLEET TO BE REVIEWED BY KING. ITALIAN TROOPS ON THE AUSTRIAN FRONTIER. Rome, October 20. King Emanuel of Italy will review the Italian Fleet, which has been completely mobilised, at Taranto on Thursday. The grandson of Garibaldi, who raised an Italian force for the aid of the allies, writing to the Giornale d'ltalia, says: "It is a pity that instead of a few thousand Italian bayonets participating in the war, we have not sent a million and a-half.. That would have saved several hundred thousand lives and millions of francs. Humanity reproaches us for letting the opportunity pass for ending this unnecessary, atrocious, and infamous war." Reuter's Agency states that owing to the increasing oppression of the rule'of Prince Hohenlohe, the military governor of Trieste, the Austro-Italian situation is daily growing more grave. In order to counteract the Socialists' and Clericals' propaganda for absolute neutrality, the leaders of the Radical Party are urging that Italy is morally ready to abandon her neutrality. Italian troops are now on the Lombardo-Venetian frontier.
