Swldon, has written to the Premier, stat">g that, from information which has come to him, it appears that a much larger grant will bo required to protect Hokitika than was anticipated. Temporary relief would only bo palliative, and the matter should be treated as a national one - If necessary he considered ParliaOent\Bhould be approached.
