iIHE FAILURE OF PHOSPHORUS.

Chmstchcrch, .Monday. As attempt was made on Saturday to burn King Edward Barracks, phosphorus being spread on the wooden walls. The fire brigade was called out to scrub it off. The police are investigating.

It is' not 12 months since a determined attempt was made to burn down this building,- and it is said' that explosives hive on more than one occasion been found on the premises.
