SIMPLIFIED DRESSCUTTING.
A LECTURE FOR LADIES. Tin was a good attendance of ladies at the lecture en simplified drasscutting, given in the Town Hall concert chamber yesterday afternoon by Miss Leah Roberts. Doctor Fi >rcnce Keller presided. 1 he lecturer showed specimens of charts invented and patented by herself, and demonstrate*] the drawing of several garments, all from the same chart. She also stated that over 100 different designs of wearing apparel for ladies, boys, and girls - could be produced from the chart, which I was so simple that it could be understood |]> in two lessons. Miss Roberts also showed 5 how (ihe could produce patterns of a man's I Uliit, a baby's garment, any number of | blouses, and six different shaped coats, all ■I, in a. very short time, aiad explained that I her method of dresscutting had gained the m gold medal in the Franco-British Exposim lion, 1908, a great triumph, as she had Sp; France, the home of designing, to compete 111 against.
