Some sections were just about cut out, and the others were well on. On Tuesday A neighbouring bush' fire over-ran its limits and got into Mr. Clark's bush. The fallen portion was Boon burning fiercely, and the fire spread into the standing bash. The alarm was given and the bushmen hastily buried their belongings and gear and beat a hasty retreat. It is not known yet whether the fire reached any of their property. * > Two gangs had a particularly trying experience. Carrying three dogs',, which had had their feet scorched by the embers, the men had to, travel fast ,to- get away from the fire, which followed hard in their wake. To get clear they had to scale a steep face, only to find on resetting the summit that they were tip against another fire. However, they succeeded in making their escape. Three other dogs were lost in the bush. The, fire was still burning yesterday."'
