BARRICADES AT AVON ALE. REMOVED AGAIN BY POLICE.
Barricades were found across the roads loading to the sanitary depot at Avondale again last night. Something of ; this nature was anticipated by the authorities, and accordingly the district health officer (Dr. gl ll), , Senior-Sergeant Rutledge, and nine constables drove out to ; the vicinity to remove any .Abstractions liable to interfere with the safe passage of the carls. .'";'"• '■
When the party arrived at Avondale at midnight it. was found that, barricades, apparently composed of the same timber as that - used on Wednesday, '; had been built across Brown's and Cameron Roads. Headed by Dr.. Makgifl, the .party . at'. tacked the obstructions vigorously, and in a, very short space of time both thoroughfares were cleared. ' • . "■-,•
