Tin Executive* Committee of the Auckland Auxiliary of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, at it* last meeting, passed the following resolutions :—" (1) We express our satisfaction that the lottery promoted, with a view to advertising the inhibition, been withdrawn ; (2} we weliiorno the disclaimer of the president of the Exhibition Committee to the effect that such lottery had neither the sanction; nor the support of the committee; (3) wo regard with grave concern the granting of facilities for such lotteries, as tending to give tho prestige of Government support to a form of gambling which offends the moral sense of a large section of the citizen*, in whose view all forma of gambling are morally indefensible,
