CHARGE OF FIRE-RAISING

A HUNTLY CASE. PLEA OF GUILTY. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Htjntly, Tuesday. A young woman named Minnie Frewin, lately resident in Ngaruawahia and Taupiri, was charged at the Huntly Court, before Messrs. J. P. Bailey and E. J. Farrell, J.P's., with wilfully setting fire to the Taupiri billiardroom early on the morning of the 13th inst. Detective-Sergeant Cooney, who had charge of the case, stated that the attempt was a deliberate one, a quantity of wood, shavings, and sacking having been placed ' beneath the building and ignited. The accused, who pleaded guilty, was remanded for sentence to the Supreme Court.
