MELANESIAN TUCK BOXES.
Sir,—Will - you grant me your , yearly favour of. a little space in 'which to remind your many readers that the time has come found again for me to collect the wherewithal to provide for the above scheme? It needs no advocacy of mine. Everyone knows thai) - these devoted men and women take their lives in their hands, devoting themselves to their arduous labours in' unhealthy climates with no thought of self; that is why it well becomes some of us to take thought for them. Each year I try to send more restoratives, condensed food, and medicines, and these are costly. I had a letter from one of the islands, pleading for cough mixtures, which was touching in the extreme. If all help me who are well able to do so I have 310 fears about the result of these few lines. The Southern Cross is to leave, all being well on March 23, a good fortnight earlier than .usual, so I shall be very grateful for an early response. Lucy Galder, • Wife of the Commissary for the Bishop of Melanesia. All Saints' Vicarage, January 25.
