TAKAPUNA TRAMWAYS.
Sir, —In Monday's issue' appears a local referring to the traffic on Sunday. Iff reads, "The Takapuna Tramway and Ferry " Company," etc., and concludes* "The improved Sunday time-table on this route is much appreciated by the public.' 8 (Would "you," as a .'favour to the hundreds v Who travel daily" by the boat and trams,, allow me to refer to the long-promised and ' much-delayed improved service ,for a couple of hours morning aid ' evening-? It .was arranged-. for December !l' last, but! nothing has been done. The Takapuna. Borough - Council were , trying to push matters on, but for some unknown reason, seem to have forgotten-all about it. The Tramway Company evidently has ho intention of giving us a better service; in! fact, the - new ' ticket - issued : to i residents causes a great delay iri clipp : ug. ~ Add to that , the slow boat and: waste' 'of time in swinging round at " the city 'fend of' the (wharf (for some- reason, "though"'; other boats go straight in, the Pupuke, can't), . and the much-advertiseii "pight minutes by boat to Bayswater"; always runs into 15 minutes. Now, if the Sunday viators , are worth considering by: giving a 40-! minutes service, ; then surely those who have built home 3 are also entitled to consideration? 'S T~ 1/ ''■} j. v?
