YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS.
Tpe sharemarket was rather quiet yesterday. In investment stocks Bank of New Zealands were on offer at £12 2s 6d. New Zealand Insurances were looked for at £5 15s, and there were sellers who wanted £5 16s 6d. South British Insurances could be had for 85s, but buyers did not quote above 81s 6d. A sale of Auckland Trams (ord.) was effected at 21s 6d. Waihi mining shares were done at 50a 9d and 50s 3d. Good business continued to be done in Waihi Grand Junctions at 26s 6d, 26s 3d, 265. 25s 9d, and 25s 6d. Waihi-Paeroa sellers asked 255. The buying price of Talismans was quoted at 425.
