KEEN CONTEST LIKELY.
There appears, already, to be every prospert of a keen contest for the Grey Lynn seat at the next general election. The sitting member, Mr. John Payne, will definitely be again opposed by the Hon. Geo. Fowlds, and another mentioned as a possible candidate 15 Mr. Geo. Baildon (Mayor of the borough). A deputation of ladies from the electorate recently waited upon the Mayor (Mr. C. J.
