NOTES AND COMMENTS. The principal topic in aquatic circles is.', the Anniversary Regatta on the 29th -of- - tins month, and already yacht and launch - owners are getting their boats, in trim for' , the various events. Members of the Re?. gatta Committee are at present busily en-. gaged canvassing for subscriptions, but up to the present only about £115 has been collected, which amount falls far chart of tho sum required to finance' the carnival. It is proposed to give £327 in prizes, and unless the public respond, the amount will have to be made up by the members of,. the committee themselves. In view of thespecial occasion, it is to be hoped that the canvassers, during the next few days, will meet with moTe success than has been the case of late.

It has been decided by the Regatta Committee that the gold and silver medals donated by the Exhibition Committee „ shall he given to the owners of the fastest.
