IMPENDING RESIGNATION,

London, January 20. The announcement has been made by Mr. Jesse Collings (Unionist M.P. for the Bordesley division of Birmingham) that he will not contest the seat at the next general election. He is 83 years of age.

Mr. Jesse Ceilings has_ represented the Bordesley division of Birmingham since 1886 in the Unionist interest. He was originally a Liberal, but seceded on the Home Rule question. He takes a great interest in all questions pertaining to the land, and moved the Small Holdings Resolution, the carrying of which caused the resignation of the Salisbury administration in 1886.
