GENERAL READJUSTMENT.
The _ members of the Public Service Accommodation Board Lave completed their work in connection with the readjustment of the office accommodation of the various Government Departments in Auckland. The board has resolved to make a number of recommendations which will be submitted to the Cabinet.
The recommendations of the board, if adopted, will involve various structural alterations both in the main Government Buildings and in the old Magistrate's Courthouse. The general idea governing the. recommendations is that of ensuring community of interests in the arrangement of Sue offices. Special accommodation forwomen, and luncheon-rooms for both sexes are recommended. It is also advised that the old age pension, office be removed from the Chief Post Office Building to the first floor of the Government Buildings- in Customs Street, It is also proposed to improve the accommodation of the Lands and Deeds and Stamp Departments in the Magistrate's Courthouse, and also to ex tend that of the Lands and Survey and Public Works Department, in the Customs street buildings.
