WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION.

£14,641 FROM 7370 TONS.

£180,119 IN 1913.

TOTAL TO DATE, £798,696. For the period of December the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Mining Company, Ltd., with 39.2 stamps, running 20 l-3Td days, crushed and treated 7370 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £14,641 9s 6d. This shows a decrease of £2191 2s 4d compared with the return for November. For 1913 the total amount of bullion won from the mine was £180,119 2s 9d, compared with £73,863 9s 9d in 1912, an increase of £106,255 13s. In 1912, the company's operations were seriously interfered with, owing to the Waihi strike. The value of the output from the mine to date is £798,696 8s 2d, as the following table of details shows :—

Brisbane, January 8.

The half-yearly report of the Mount Morgan mine shows a surplus of £172,845, to which must be added the undivided profits of £46,591, and dividends of a shilling a share paid in October and on the 2nd inst., which absorbed £100,000. A balance of £65,846, after meeting all charges, is carried forward. During the half-year, 148,924 tons of ore. which were treated, yielded 4354 tons of copper, and 54,9820z of gold. Developments during the year have made it possible in the near future for the concentrators to treat 500 tons more ore per Hay. Every effort is being made to complete the new power plant, and have it available to operate the old smelter until the new one is running. In addition, 3,245,000 tons of high and medium grade ores at the least and 3,000,000 tons of lower grade ores are suitable for concentration.

CONSOLIDATED GROUP. The following are the returns from the Consolidated Group, Reefton.Progress: Crushed 2920 tons, yielding £1899; cyanided 2500 tons,, yielding £1295; estimated value of sulphurets produced, £496 ; cost per ton. mining 12s sd, milling 2s lOd, general and bullion charges 2s lid. B

Wealth of Nations : Crushed 2180 tons, yielding £2723; cyanided 1420 tons, yielding £764; estimated value of sulphurets produced, £3?; cost per ton, mining 13s Id, milling 3s lid, general expenses and bullion charges 3s 4d. Blackwatcr: Crushed 4008 tons, vieldrag £6298: cyanided 2378 tons, yielding £771 ; estimated value of sulphurets produced, £558; cost per ton, mining 15s 6d, milling 3s 2d, general expenses and bullion charges 4s Id.
