The claims of Bristol as a handy port for the distribution of Australasian produce are to be actively pressed during the next few months. Mr. Henry Riselui, a prominent Bristol merchant, accompanied by Mr. Lewis, the commercial superintendent of the Bristol docks, has sailed for Australasia for this purpose. Mr. Dunlop, the director of Messrs. Eastman, the meat ourveyors, has also sailed for Australia and New Zealand to inquire regarding the meat trade, with a view to the firm's opening direct trade.
