DOMINION'S AEROPLANE.

PROPELLER GONE ASTRAY.

[it TELBOBAPH.— OWN COBRESPOKBZOT. ) Wellington, Monday. Hopes were held last week when the Defence Department's aeroplane left for Auckland that it would be seen in action at the military tournament. This has not been the case, however, for the aeroplane is still withoit the propelleWhen the gift was shipped 'iora Englaid this important part was omitted, but upon the arrival of the aeroplane instructions were sent immediately for the omission to be rectified, and a propeller duly came to hand, it is believed, by the Tainui, which arrived in Wellington on December 21. The bill of lading has reached the Defence Department, but not the propeller*. Anxious telegrams have been received by the Department from Auckland urging the despatch of the all-important part, but it has all been of no avail, and it is now feared that the propeller has been lost on the wharf owing to the congestion of cargo. A man from the Dofence Department has been watching for it on the wharf every day, but has not seen it come from the ship.
