The " Trip to Japan" voting competition attracted 62 competitors. Twenty-six of these have been awarded cash prizes by Mr. Howey Walker. The winner of the competition (Miss Alice lnglis) not wishing to make the " trip to Japan, received the full value of her prize—£loo—in cash, through the National Bank of New Zealand. So far a total of £178 has been paid to winners of cash prizes. Several small amounts have not yet been called for,
