THE COST OF LIVING.
Timeß-Bydney Sun Special Cable. (Received January 5. 8.30 p.m.) London, January 5. Several of the leading London banks have increased the salaries of their staffs as an acknowledgment of the increased cost of living, and in recognition of merit. It is stated that salaries have been increased by 50 per cent, in 20 years.
