AUSTRALASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. G. N. • HILL UNABLE TO COMPETE. G. N. Hill, the present holder of the one and three miles Australasian championships, who has been selected to represent New Zealand at the forthcoming championships at Melbourne, is unable to make the trip owing to business ties. CYCLING RECORD. , [BY TEIJEGRAFH. — ASSOCIATION.] TniABTT, Monday. • On the Caledonian track A. Or. Donald this evening cut down the motor-paced cycle record for two miles. The conditions were not of the best, as a shower made th& track somewhat greasy, and the motor skidded at the corners. Moreover, the motor gave out, and stopped half a-lap from home. Notwithstanding this, Donald covered the two miles in 3m 28 4-sb, the first mile being covered in lm 38 4-ss. The motor had a wind-shield fixed.
