FOUR WOMEN DROWNED.

MYSTERIOUS OCCURRENCE.

Brisbane, December 15. Four women, viz., Mrs. Henderson and two daughters and Mrs. Willcox, while bathing in the Albert River, at Tambourine, yesterday, were drowned.

Nobody 'saw the occurrence, but a passer-by found four lots of women's clothes on the bank. It is surmised that one got into difficulties, and the others went to her rescue.

The caretaker's cottage was destroyed, the occupants escaping in their night attire, by climbing on a shed and thence over a brick wall.
