London, December 15. The streets of Leeds remain unswept and unlit owing to the strike of municipal employees. Many of the churches on Sunday dispensed with the evening services. Civilians are maintaining a limited gas supply, and an effective electric tram service during the day-time.
The strikers threaten to block the coal supplies. *•' i. > ,
The municipality contends that the strikers are well paid. The majority of the gasworkers are receiving 25s to 41s a week, street cleaners 25s to 345, electricity workers 27s to 395, and highway employees 26s to 395.
