He ; ; .said that the cost would be only £3000, -1 *d.that if the road were completed the I journey from the Main Trunk railway at ■;. .Waimarino to Taupo could be covered in m* few hours, as against the whole day H that was now occupied by the journey from ■.;.:: Waiouru to Tokaanu. There was no more important road in New Zealand than this ; One, he said, and lie hoped that the Go- '. vernment would take the necessary steps j ■ to complete it.
