65 PER CENT. MEDICALLY FIT. BRITISH OFFICER'S PRAISE. Times-Sydney Sun Special Cable. (Received September 21, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, September 20. • The medical examination of the 20-year-old recruits has resulted as follows:—Sixty-five per cent, have been pronounced fit for service. It is anticipated, however, that only 50 per cent, will be found fit. One British officer on the spot asserts that these conscripts are physically the equals of British soldiers who have undergone two years' service.
