The lecture hall of the Young Men's Christian Association was filled to overflowing last evening, when Mrs. T. S. Gladding, of New York, gave a lecture on " The Dawning of a New Day for Girls in Many Lands." Mrs. Gladding is an enthusiast, and this fact necessarily made her lecture the more acceptable. She showed a particularly interesting series of slides showing the various academic institutions in the United States from the Southern States to the Middle West. The lecturer gave many interesting' facts and figures, and showed clearly the great hold that the Young Women's Christian Association movement has taken in her country. Miss Helen P. Barnes (travelling secretary) also addressed the gathering.
