' FERRY STEAMER WAHINE. j' -T The Union Company's new turbine terry steamer Wahine is reported by cable to have left London last week 1 for New Zealand.' where she .will take up her running in the Wellington-Lyttelton terry service, 'in conjunction with the - Maori.. lne Wahine is being navigated to New Zealand by Captain'Vint, late, of the Aparima. :w : . THE KAMONA. ' The Union Company's collier Kamona is making a somewhat lengthy passage from Newcastle to Auckland. The vessel left the New South Wales coal port on the morning of Tuesday, May 13, and is therefore eight days out to-day.. She has no doubt been considerably, delayed on .the passage by the stormy weather which has been experienced in the Tasman Sea of late. The lightkeeper at (Jape Maria Van' Diemen reported yesterday that a steamer passed east at 8 a.m., which 'is thought to be the Kamona, in -which case she should reach port about 8 a.m. to-day. WILLOCHRA REPLACES AOKANGI. The- Union Company announces that the new steamer Wiliochra, which w*s recently chartered from the Adelaide Steamship Company, will replace the mail steamer Aorangi in the Sydney-Wellington-San Francisco service in September next. The Wiliochra is a splendid type of passenger steamer, her registtred tonnage- being 7786. She is at present engaged in the SydneyCook Strait-Bluff-Melbourne service, and is under the command of Captain Neville. J . DELAYED AT NEWCASTLE. - . ■ The Union Company has received advice to the effect : that, owing to the heavy floods at Newcastle, as an. outcome of the recent stormy weather experienced in Australia, no coal ,is avai.able at the present time. A large number of vessels are at Newcastle waiting to load, and, >n consequence of the congestion, several of. the Union Company's . colliers will < meet with considerable de'.ay., The Kurow, Katoa, AYairuna, Koroniiko, Waipori, and Waitemata, which were expected to load at Newcastle this week for Jew Zealand, will' probably be held for somo time. WAIHORA LEAVES SYDNEY." A few minutes before 7 o'clock last evening the Tyser liner Muritai arrived at Auckland from London, via Australian ports, and anchored in the stream. She will berth at the Railway Wharf this morning, and after discharging 3600 tons .of general cargo proceeds to Napier ana Wellington to complete. - The second officer reports that the -Muritai left London at midnight on March 20, end encountered heavy weather in the English Channel and crossing the Bay of Biscay. ; Las IVmas was reached on.
