THE ANNUAL EXHIBITION, ' The 32nd annual Exhibition of the Auckland Society of Arts will be opened tomorrow night> by 'His. Excellency the: Governor (the Earl of } Liverpool), at a}i conversazione, to }} which;; members and friends have been invited.} A pleasant social gathering is expected to eventuate,and the galleries}will he open to the in- , spection of the visitors,; thus adding to. .the} attractiveness} of Xho • function. The : numerous ' exhibits have'.all been hung. In tlie society's upper gallery are the oils and water-colours. } ur They comprise a} collection -■■ in which there. are } many; striking ; features. The arrangement .of the ;' pictures ; has effected a very • harmonious genoral colour scheme, and reflects credit upon ; tho Hanging} Committee. Art patrons will also find much to admire, and: much which will'; appeal to' their artistic* sense, in the photographic section, • situated in the; lower gallery.
