, » NO EVIDENCE OF HOW MRS. NOWILL DIED. MAN'S CRUELTY SUGGESTED. By Telegraph.— Association.—Copy London, December 3. At the inquest on Mrs. Nowill, who disappeared from' an hotel at Newquay, Cornwall, and whose body was subsequently found on the rocks at the foot of a cliff, the jury returned a verdict of "found drowned."

Mr. No-will, in his evidence, said that he was sure that there was nothing in his wife's conduct with wh.ich fault could be found. The doctor who made the postmortem stated that there were no signs of violence, and that Mrs. Nowill died from drowning.

There was no evidence of how the woman died. *"*•-'!-» (BcceivedM>e««P;ber 4. 10.50 p.m.) London JDecember 4. ..The legal opinion is ftfa&.as Mrs. *fowilfpredeceased'Delay' the Titter's legacy to her is void. V The Coroner said that he believed" that Delay treated the woman in a heartless manner, but it was improbable that he forced her over the cliff.

Mrs. Nowill, who was the wife of a Sheffield merchant, mysteriously disappeared from a fashionable hotel at Newquay, a watering place in _ Cornwall, last week. James Delay (a retired Singapore solicitor), who was residing at the same hotel, after participating in the search, committed suicide. During the search Delay seized a coastguard lieutenant, remarking : I'll throw you over the cliff, too." He then apologised. Delay, by a codicil to his will, bequeathed £33,000 to Mrs. Nowill.
