BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Birkenhead Borough Council met lust night. Present: Messrs. Wm. Wallace (Mayor), F. Finch, Thos. Church, Jus. P. McPhail, F. M. King, C. E. Campbell, .7. W. Court, J. Maginness, and Reg. Shepherd.
It was resolved to hand the subscription lists towards the presentation of a Mag to H.IM.S. Ze.ilandia from the ladies of New Zealand, to the following collectors in Birkenhead :—Mesdames W. Wallace (Mayoress), .A. Bartlett, C. E. Campbell, V. Finch, and J. Maginness. Three building permits were granted. It was decided that the town clerk should not attend at the Council Chambers on Saturdays, but instead should be in attendance on Friday evenings. The Mayor announced that he also would attend" at the Council office on Friday evenings, for the purpose of meeting any ratepayer who had any business requiring his attention.
