BOWLING.

WAITEMATA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Waitemata Bowling Club was held in the Masonic Hall, Northcoto. on Wednesday night. The president, Mr. B. Van Veen presided. The annual report stated that, the Rkeates' Cup had been won by. Mr. I',. Clark, and the president's bowls by Mr. J. K. Mcl'hail. whilst Mr. W. Chappell won the prize for first-year players. Of the seven inter-club matches played, Waitemata, wan defeated in six. Since the close of the season, various improvements had been effected to the green. The balancesheet showed a profit for the year of .£22 5s 6<l, and the committee anticipated that the club would be in a fairly strong financial position at the end of next season. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President. Mr. 11. Frith; vice-presidents, Messrs. B. Van Veen, Geo. Fraeer, and R. A. Meek; hon. secretary, Mr. W. H. Glover; hon. treasurer, Mr. I). Elston; committee, Messrs. G. If. Lyon, A. Campbell, W. Luke. 7). A. Gray, W. M. Jacks, W. Low, and E. Clark; entertainment committee, Messrs. W. Luke, W. Low,

G. H. Lyon, and E. J. Tromain; solo match selector, Mr. Arch. Campbell, with Mr. J. 11. MoPhail as his deputy handioappere, Messrs. A. Campbell and J'. R. MoPhail; green superintendent, Mr. E. A. Meek; auditor, Mr, W. M. Jacks; delegates to Auckland Provincial fowling Association, Messrs. E. Clark and H. Frith. Six new members were elected. Votes of thanks; to the ladies of the Croquet Club, who had generously provided afternoon tea. during the season, and to Messrs. H. M. Shepherd and Geo. Fraser for the use of their launches for the purpose of visiting the Riverhead and ' Coromandel Clnbis were passed. . '
