ENTERTAINMENTS.

I ETHEL IRVING SEASON. A L.UVGE audience was present at His Majesty's Theatre last night to witness the second production of " Lady Frederick," by Miss Ethel living's Company. The entertaining comedy-drama again created such a favourable impression as to lead to frequent demonstrations of approval, and curtain calls for the leading artists. Miss Irving's refined and subtle work in the title-role appealed most effectually to all in front, the actress readily establishing herself in popular esteem. Her absolute naturalness and self-control concealed her artifice so well as to rank as the highest art. Beyond doubt Miss Irving is a past-mistress of dramatic subtlety, and her comedy " vein is remarkably developed. Mr. Stephen T. JBwart confirmed the excellent impression ho made on the first night in the part of Paradine Fouldes. He is a sterling actor, giving a finished performance, which compels admiration. .
