THE SHIPPING DISPUTE.

Wellington, Wednesday. TrtERE are two disputes affecting the merchant sen-ice before the Conciliation Council. The hearing of the one dealing with men employed on vessels under 1000 tons was resumed this evening by the council, but no agreement was arrived at, and the matter will be referred to the Arbitration Court for settlement. The hearing of the dispute- affecting vessels of 1000 tons and over has been adjourned to September 19.
