ENTERTAINING CUT-THROATS.
A MEXICAN EPISODE.
Ax adventuro experienced By two former residents of West Australia, now in Mexico, is recounted in a letter received by a relative at Fremantle. After detailing incidents in which a party of revolutionists attacked a mine of which the writer's husband * id manager, tho narrator stales that, after taking arms and ammunition from the men engaged on tho mine, tho revolutionists eventually returned them, on tho manager pointing out the seriousness of interfering with British property. Tho insurgents wero in charge of desperadoes named Banderos and Franco. Later on these two, with their men, returned to Za)X>le, near tho mine. The writer and her husband rode over to "where tho rebels were quartered. They had a long talk with the leaders and the latter promised to corao to the mine and din© with tho manager and his wife.
"They were a picturesque lot round that table at dinner," continues tho writer. *' I don't suppose many women have had such an experience as that. Franco was sitting on my right. He pretended to know no English. I forgot this, and suddenly asked him tho time. Ho took out a watch and said ' ten past seven.' I said, 'I thought you did not speak English,' and he admitted* he did. A little later they wero discussing different revolvers, and each ono took out, his to show it. 'Hie table was just a mass of guns. Franco hold his out to mo and said in a quiet voice, ' I shot, two men with this at. Gtiadelupo last night.' It was quite true, as wo wero told about it before. Well, we had a jolly dinner even though the guests wero cut throats." .
