TO-DAY'S MATCHES.
The principal matches to-day are as follows:—
FIRST DIVISION.
W.Y.M.I. v. Caledonian, No. 3 ground, Kingsland (Mr. French). Corinthian v. Carlton, No. 1 ground, Kingsland (Mr. Speed). North Shore v. Ponconby, No. 2 ground, Kingsland, (Mr. Kichardson). Kvorton v. Ilunllv, No. 4 ground, Kingsland (Mr. Classen'!. lows : — NOTES AND COMMENTS. It has Ik'cd decided to hold a meeting of delegates next Tuesday evening, when the question of playing matches oil Proclamation Day will he decided. A friendly match between Huntly and the Kvertoa team will Ix; played at Eden Park to-day. The Huntly team have applied to ho affiliated with the local body, and will enter for the Cup championship. The fifth division championship matches will start to-day. Twelve teams have entered. Only boy 3 under 15 years of age are eligible to play in this competition. Mr. Adams and his two colleagues (Messrs. 'J urley and Elineoe) havo in a great measure been responsible for the good work done, among the boys. More referees are required each week, and it is hoped that retired players will come forward and help the association in appointing a referee tor each match. A request from the N.Z.F.A., asking if t.he local association could guarantee a sum if there was any loss on the New South Wales' team was received, and the local body havo replied thai, they would not guarantee any amount in that, direction. Greater interest is being taken by the public in Association football, and each week there is to be seen a large number of spectators at Eden Park
