,r . j The Governor entertained Mr. (J. J. | aiT , lately chairman of the Hoard of education, and Mr. K. K. Mulgan, the oard 8 chief inspector, at luncheon at Government House yesterday. He also ispected the Town Hall in its progress towards completion,' being met by the Clt y engineer (Mr. W. E. Bueh) and the"! contractor for the building. Visits were i ■ ei * made to the Newton East and Dovonport schools, His Excellency being accompanied by Lieutenant McDonald, A.D.C., / < -' ar ' an( '» chairman of the Board f; Mutation, and Messrs. Parr and Mulgan.
Last evening Lord Islington was enter'led at a social gathering of the A uckland Garrison Officers' Club. This morning the Governor will visit ® Jubilee Institute for the Blind, and to afternoon, accompanied by Lady Is'ngton, he will visit the Orphans' Home at Papatoetoe.
To-morrow morning 'Their Excellencies *'11 attend service at St. Matthew's V" Ur ch.
.On Itiesilav afternoon Lady Islington entertain the members of the Girls' friendly Society at an "At Hume" at government House.
