AUCKLAND AMBULANCE STATION.
Sir,As tho father of the Auckland ccntro of the St. John Ambulanco AEsocia(ion, may I crave space in your valuable columns for an appeal for a permanent place of abode for the headquarters of this very useful association. As you and the general public are 110 doubt aware, the members are ever ready, in time of need such as accidents or sickness, to do the very best possible in case of no medical man being available. The classes, which are held at His Majesty's Arcade, are greatly hampered by want of room, so the committee appeal to the generous people of Auckland to assist them to build a hostel, so that they may have a central place where ambulance waggons, _ Ash ford litters, stretchers, and other appliances may bo kept ready for use, and where lectures may bo given by the medical gentlemen who so gladly give their services to the association. It is nearly 21 years since the association began operations, during which time it has done splendid work, and as tho father of such a noble offspring. I am anxious that, its 21st birthday should see it provided with a homo worthy of it and of the important and populous citv of Auckland. F. W. King, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P.
