CANNES TOURNAMENT.

A correspondent writes to the Christchurclt Press as follows:—" many friends of Mr- and Mrs. W. B. Craig, who formerly lived in Christchurch and Timaru, will bo delighted to hear of their success at tho Cannes (South of France) Golf Club spring' meeting. Mrs. Craig, who is a daughter of the late Rev. Henry Glaseon, formerly of Avonside, won the Grand Duke Michael of Russia's gold enamel tea service (worth £50), and Mr. Craig the Grand Duke's gold cigarette case for men (also worth £50). It is the. first time on record that husband and wife have secured at <fee same meeting these celebrated prizes, for which there are always many competitors of all nationalities."
WAIIH CLUB.

Waihi, Wednesday.
On Saturday next a stroke competition will be played on the Waihi Golf Club's links for a trophy presented by Mr. J. M. Cochrane, a former member of the club. Players will arrange their own games.
