NORTHERN UNION GAME.

SOME IMPORTANT ADDITIONS.

The proposed Australian and English tours of Northern Union players have caused some stir in union circles owing to the reported defection of several prominent local players. Negotiations were known to be proceeding between local officials and union players, and it was reported yesterday that A. 11. Francis, of the Ponsonby Club, and a New Zealand representative, will play the Northern Union game next Saturday. Two other important additions to the ranks of the new code are D. Evans, of Ilawko's Bay, and a member of the New Zealand representative team which toured Australia last season, and Milne, a North Island representative.
