MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
UNION FEES.
AT the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., the Auckland Tailors' Industrial Union of Workers (Mr. A. E. Skelton) sought to recover from A. McCullough. the sum of £1 6s, arrears of union fees. T. M. Simpson, secretary of the union, gave evidence in support of the claim. Defendant contended that he was no longer a member of the union, but Mr. Kettle gave judgment for the union with costs. In a case in which W. Duncan (Mr. Prendergast) claimed from A. C. Gummer (Mr. McVeagh) £114 10s 9d for travelling expenses, wages, and three months' wages at £5 per week, in lieu of notice, totalling £62 10s, the plaintiff was nonsuited, with costs £9 19s 6d.
