GABRIEL'S GULLY RUSH.
THE JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS.
[bt telegraph. —press association.! Lawrence, Wednesday. The Gabriel's Gully Jubilee celebrations were continued to-day in splendid weather. This afternoon the sports meeting and seven a-side football tournament attracted several hundred people. A number of races for pioneers were arranged and were entered into with great spirit. This evening a complimentary dinner was held. The toast of the evening was "Men of '61," which was proposed by Mr. J. C. Browne, secretary of the Jubilee Committee, and responded to by several pioncors. At the close of the gathering the pioneers showed their appreciation of the efforts of the Mayor of Lawrence (Mr. Jas. Robertson) in bringing tho celebrations to such a successful issue by presenting him with a gold watch and locket. A presentation is also to be made .to Mrs. Robertson. To-morrow the pioneers will be tendered a picnic in the afternoon and a smoke concert in the evening.
