HELENS VILLI? TRAINING SCHOOL.
The tender of Mr. .J. Macdonald, of £699 for the erection of a manual training school at- Ilelensville, was accepted. The following accounts were pasted for payment :Administration account (27 vouchers), £1105 7s 8d; building account. (43 vouchers), £998 15s 8d ; manual and technical account (41 vouchers), £358 14s The following appointments were authorised by the Board:—-Miss M. Craig.- first assistant in secondary department of Pueroa District High School; Miss O. M. Clark, 8.A., second assistant in secondary department of Waihi District High School: Mi'- P. J. Murphy, teacher. Pungaere; Mr. L. F. Gubb, temporary charge," Whangaparaoa; Miss M. C. Terry, " teacher. Kaikinekine; Miss M. Lee. teacher, Te Maika; Mrs. S. M. Hamilton, temporary Awhitu: Miss D. E. Wilks, temporary assistant, Manunui; Miss M. Western, assistant at Normal School; Mr. U. L. Griffith, pupil-teacher, Waiuku; Miss A. K. Wilson, pupil-teacher, Edendale; nl r Earge, temporary charge. li Point; Mr. K. R. White, temporary charge, Dacre's and Tawharanui half-time schools.
It was decided to consult the committee of the Manual School regarding the appointment of Miss A. Gillandeis as assistant teacher at (lie school. Ihe teachers Selection Committee reported that it had deferred its recommendations regarding the following appointments :Sole charge schools: Graham s hern, Otaika, Waiau, Waitakanirti full-time), Mangawhero, Ngataki (aided) Maungatautari No. 2, Pukelwwai (aided), and also Waiharara (assistant). The resignations of .Miss M. K. ]. ( Kaikinekine, and of .Miss J. M. Wilkinson' Edendale, were accepted. The chairman reported that temporary arrangements had been made as follow:— .Mr. G. I". Gubh. Te Kopuru, in absence of headmaster: .Miss M. K. Lee. Tirau. in absence of assistant: Miss A. Forbes, Remuora, pending arrival of assistant ; Miss M. ('. A. .'Jeffs, Whangarata, in absence of assistant; Miss M, li. Slade Kawakawa, in absence of assistant. ' Leave of absence was granted as follows :—Mr. R. J. Parry, Point Chevalier, three months; Miss A. A. M. Cole two months; Miss E. 1). Grant, Remuora. 12 days; Mr. J. E. Elliott, Te Kopuru, three weeks; Miss F. J. Taylor, Tauranga District High School, two weeks; .Miss 1. M. Dean. Whangarata, one month.
