A CONVICTION QUASHED.
[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DuNEDrs, Friday. In the Adamson appeal from a conviction by Mr. Hutcheson, at Oamaru, under the licensing law, which was sent back to the magistrate to give notes of evidence, after argument to-day the judge reversed the magistrate's decision. Judge Williams held that for the conviction to be upheld it would require to be shown that Adameon was agent, or was acting for the brewers who supplied the liquor, whereas, it appeared he was a messenger for parties to whom the liquor was supplied. The conviction was quashed.
