BOWLING.
NORTHERN ASSOCIATION'S ' CARNIVAL.
An informal meeting of delegates from Auckland clubs affiliated with the Northern Bowling Association was held in Mr. J. Thornes's office on Thursday evening. The meeting, which was to discuss matters in regard to the approaching carnival of the Northern Bowling Association, to be held in Auckland in January next, was called by One of the club delegates as the result of a misunderstanding of a communication from Wellington. A letter was read at the meeting from Mr. Wm. Elliott, of Auckland, president of the Northern Association, calling attention to the informality of the meeting. Those present decided to forward a letter to Mr. Elliott expressing regret at the occurrence, and assuring him that the meeting was called through a misconception of the position. . • Each of the nine Auckland clubs affiliated with the Northern Association, viz., Auckland, Grey Lynn, Onehunga, Ponsonby, Rocky Nook, Mount Eden, Carlton, Epsom, and Devonport, have received circular letters from the secretary of the .Northern Association, asking them to each, appoint two delegates in connection with the carnival one to act on a Tournament Committee and the other on an Entertainment Committee, the delegates so appointed to meet and apooint a local secretory. Mr. Ceo. Dixon, secretary of the Northern Bowling Association, will be in Auckland early in December, when he will consult: with the committees.
