IMPERIAL MISSIONERS.
A SEVERE HECKLING.
By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright
London, April 13. Liberal newspapers characterise the "Imperial Missioners" as dumped colonial protectionists, and ridicule their claim to be non-political. Messrs. Frank Fox (ex-editor of the Lone Hand) and Daniel O'Connor (ex-Postmaster-General of New South Wales) spoke, and the League of Frontiersmen acted as stewards at their opening meeting at Walworth. ° The speakers, who were severely heckled, were asked who had delegated them to act as evangels of Empire. A cable on Monday stated that half a dozen self-appointed, self-styled " Imperial missioned" from Canada, South Africa, and Australia, were addressing meetings in England on Imperial preference. They did not seek the support of . political organisations, and did not claim to be acting in a lepresentative capacity, but, promised to undertake a revival like a religious revival.
