MEETINGS.
AUCKLAND MINISTERS' ' ASSOCIATION.
The first meeting of the Auckland Ministers' Association after the recess was held in the parlour of the Tabernacle yesterday afternoon. The Rev. H. Knowles Kempton (president) occupied the chair. There was a large attendance. The first halfhour was spent in devotional exercises. 'The Revs. H. White and E. Bridges were nominated for membership. The Rev. Isaac Jolly, M.A., who is well known to many of the ministers, was welcomed, and nominated for membership. The Rev. J. Foeton, from the South, was also present. The members expressed delight and thankfulness that the Rev. W. Gray Dixon had decided to remain in St. David's Church. The Rev. H. Young brought up the report of the Sailors' Mission, which was received. The resignation of Mr. G. H. Ralph, missioncr to seamen under the British and Foreign Sailors' Society, was accepted with deep regret. A resolution expressing high appreciation of the capable and. successful manner in which he had discharged his duties was passed, several of the ministers testifying to the excellent work done by Mr. Ralph. The appointment of a missioner and other important matters were left to the special committee in charge of the work. The Rev. A. Miller, M.A., reported on the Bible in schools. The Rev. Howard Elliott, hon. secretary of the Dr. Henry's Mission, gave a brief report, expressing high' hopes for success of this important work. The May meeting will be held in the parlour of the Pittstreet Church, bv invitation of the pastor, the Rev. W. Ready, the address to be given by the president. An adjournment was made to Buchanan's, where the members were the guests of the Rev. H. Kempton Knowles. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to him, on the motion of the Rev. G. B. AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION. ~ At last meeting of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association a letter from the Auckland Harbour Board was read, notifying the association that the new shed to be erected on the Queen-street Wharf would be available for holding the Winter Show, which is to be held on July 18. The new shed will provide 1000 ft more space than the two sheds on the Railway Wharf used last year. The Agricultural Department. have notified the association that it will send a large and comprehensive exhibit. The Executive Committee for the current year were elected as» follows:—Messrs. Joseph Amburv, C/ J. Garland. A. R. Karris. M. B. Kirkbride, A. Muir, E. D. O'Rorke. T. Simsnn, R, Salmon, J. H. Scott. A. S. Thompson, F. J. Wills, and John Wvllie.
ARCHHILL ROAD BOARD. At a, meeting of the Arcbhill Road Board, held last evening, it was decided to hold the statutory meeting of ratep'ivers in the Primitive Methodist Mission Hall, Great North Road, on Wednesday, May 4.
