TWO MEN ARRESTED.

The men were charged atTeKqiti ; : yesterday, ;; before -justices "of , the peace, . .jj with having broken into the Ongarue : railway station on Sunday:night. \ Some days ' ago the stationmaster discovered that the station' had been ■■ entered ; during * the pre- .-■ vious night, and a case of beer tampered , with, but nothing was missing. Constable Owen, anticipating that another attempt V: would be made to enter the station/ kept a watch. On Sunday evening his vigi- v lance was rewarded. Shortly, after nine o'clock he . saw two men .cautiously approaching the building, and obtain admit- ;-'| tance through a window. As soon as the.> % men entered ; the constable his cover;and i endeavoured to ■ effect >an . arrest. ■Re - secured Thompson, ; but Mcßae bolted and got clear , only to be captured within an '- hour.. Both men were remanded to reappear iat TeKuiti on Friday. .
