A GIRL ASSAULTED.
ANOTHER RODNEY CASE.
Another case of an assault upon a girl oil tender years took place at Warkworti last; week (writes our Warkworth cone. pondent). The girl, who is 13 years cvgrthmhuk(? age, was attacked by a man of /strop build, and cried so-loudly that a young man named Oakes, who was somo:C<k'; ? siderable distance off, heard her, and went to ; her assistance'. The • man is said ;' to have confronted '■ Oakes -with '.fH knife, : and threatened to use ': it if L; he interfiled, . but Oakes advanced' boldly, whereupon the man made a dash ] for it and escaped. ' The matter was '■»■■, ported to Constable Johnston, who arretted a man named William J. F. Moore., The accused Was brought before a local justice next morning, and was remanded, The girl assaulted was injured eo serious!? that it was found necessary to order her removal to the Auckland Hospital. This (says our correspondent) is the third known outrage committed against girls of tender years in the Rodney district withi a short period, and is making parent* anxious for the safety of their children.
