TIRED OF LIFE.

Christchurch, Tuesday. ■ An old man named Thomas Rhodes Christian, 69 years of age, was found hanging in a wood-turning shop, :in •Madras-street,, this morning, and died shortly after being cut down. The old man was employed by- his son 'in the wood-turning business, and went to work as usual this morning. His health of late had not been good, and when ho arrived at the shop for to-day's work he was no better. Shortly before 10 o'clock he was found hanging by the neck from a, crossbeam in the shop",;a running noose of sash cord being around his neck, with the end fixed to tho beam. He was found to be still alive, and a doctor, who arrived promptly, applied measures to restore animation, but without avail. .
